I reinstalled my machine (rather than just rsync from backup) when a hard drive failed just to see if I had done all the right backports I wanted (I used to just build packages and dpkg -i them. I realized I was missing libdatetime-format-http-perl, so I backported it to edgy, feisty and dapper.
